Have you heard the rumours about Friday night? Supposed to be quite the do, I hear.

I don't suppose you'd know anything about the story so far, though. Do you? (I don't but then...well, I guess it doesn't really matter. Mostly I think it's just where everyone's supposed to be. Only don't tell Patil or Moon, right, because no one wants a lecture on what we Prefects are supposed to prevent in the school.)

Anyway. Do you want to go? F-F has something to do with it, on account of Hydra Lestrange. So I can make sure we know where it is and we can get there while there are still seats.

If not, er, well, nearly everyone else will be there, I think, so we might have the sett to ourselves, practically.

Yes! I read them over the summer. So I can tell you all about them. Well, there is Amaranth of course who is the main character and there is Efrain who is a demoted mudblood -- demoted to pureblood! because in the books the purebloods are subjagated by the mudbloods and cruelly oppressed. (When I first heard about the books I thought it was stupid and I didn't want to read them but I have since expanded my tastes.) AnyhowAstra Morgensen is brilliant and she writes the most powerful prose in the saga of Efrain and Amaranth and Phoebus and the tournament where they must battle to the death against other purebloods, and everything that happens and how unfair everything is. And it is quite gripping. So you will almost certainly like it.

Do let's go. And I won't tell Moon or Patil. Patil doesn't talk to me hardly anyway so that's not even a question. And I think sometimes Moon still doesn't remember my name. Perhaps if my name were an Arithmancy theorem he would. But anyhow, yes please do let's go.

Only some of it is quite suspenseful, so there may need to be hand-holding. If you didn't mind.

Er, it's not a snogging book, then? Only because everyone seems to be talking about how they're either on team Phoebus or team Efrain and Zach said--well, nevermind. I suppose it doesn't matter. If you say it's exciting and about battles, then it can't be too bad.

There is lots of snogging but honestly the snogging is almost like a second set of battles for the characters in a way. Which makes it more interesting that people say team this and team that.

It is not so much mushy snogging as desperate snogging if you see what I mean. And also battles. And secrets and betrayals and the desperate struggle for survival in an unjust society against fearsome obstacles.

And things might get held at some point. If you play your cards right. And now my dormmates have asked what I am writing about and I didn't want to say so I told them Exploding Snap. Oh dear. And I cannot tell them why I am laughing.
